but Availity is unable to associate the error
message with the appropriate claim based on the
information the payer supplied please contact the
payer for assistance - This message is coming back
on Medicare claims and is not a true rejection.
Disregard this message on reports dated before
May 23.
NPI Update – Effective May 23, 2008 Medicare and
BCBS will reject claims if the provider legacy IDs
are present. We have tested Medisoft and our
clearinghouses to see if it will be compatible
with this update.
-MedAvant customers and Availity customers see
Article 458 for information on how to remove your
legacy numbers. You will need to be on the most
current version of your EDI module.
-ENS customers – Will need to purchase Simple837
to send claims, contact sales for more information
